I hated this so much.

Let me start at the beginning. There was another televised version – 1950, United Kingdom – that I tried to find with no luck, so I was forced to abandon my search and move on to the next. I don’t know what could have been. I want to believe that what could have been was so much better than this.

The story was there. Of course it was!

The acting was stilted.

They removed the idea of Dr. Jekyll having a fiancée.

They kept Mr. Hyde obsessed with a woman he met in a bar/cabaret (though she was not a performer this time).

The make-up effects for Hyde were lackluster.

The only saving grace was that Utterson was finally included! Utterson! My guy!

Thankfully, it was relatively short.

Out of all the film adaptations we have discussed, this one is one you can skip!

It was so unremarkable that I can’t remember if they included the will in this one. Dr. Jekyll probably didn’t leave me anything anyway. Jerk.
