The Random Three
I planned to discuss my next unloved book trope, but I have an infection and am on antibiotics, so I am not in the mood to sit here and think too hard. In fact, I love that less than the unloved book trope right now! Instead, I am just going to share three random thoughts/things.… Continue reading

Jekyll and Hyde…Together Again (1982)
Runtime: 1 hr 27 min Starring: Mark Blankfield, Bess Armstrong, and Krista Errickson Director: Jerry Belson Let me get this out of the way: yes, I switched up this blog’s look. I was getting a little tired of the black and green, so I decided to try a lighter look. I’m not in love with… Continue reading

Dr. Hekyll and Mr. Hype (1980)
Runtime: 1 hr 39 min Starring: Oliver Reed, Sunny Johnson, and Maia Danziger Director: Charles B. Griffith I hated this so much. There are comedies that are not meant for me, but I can see how other people would like the comedy. Then there are comedies that I’m not sure how anyone could like. I… Continue reading

September Movies
Not counting the adaptations of Jekyll & Hyde in September, I watched ten movies. You know me; I don’t usually list every movie I’ve watched. For this breakdown, I’ll give you my “pleasant surprise,” my “it was just okay,” and my “never again.” My “pleasant surprise”: I read The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood back… Continue reading

Dr. Black, Mr. Hyde (1976)
Runtime: 1 hr 27 min Starring: Bernie Casey, Rosalind Cash, and Marie O’Henry Director: William Crain This is described as a blaxploitation horror film. I knew there was a whole genre of film described this way, but I’m pretty sure this is the first I’ve personally watched. This doesn’t follow the story of Dr. Jekyll… Continue reading

The Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio (1971)
Runtime: 1 hr 21 min Starring: Sebastian Brook, Mady Maguire, and Donn Greer Director: Eric Jeffrey Haims I think it’s safe to say that slasher sexploitation films may not be for me? At least, this one was decidedly not for me! Look, friends, I don’t know what the plot actually was. What I do know… Continue reading

I, Monster (1971)
Runtime: 1 hr 15 min Starring: Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and Mike Raven Director: Stephen Weeks Christopher Lee is back Why use most of the names from the original story, but change Dr. Henry Jekyll to Dr. Charles Marlowe and Edward Hyde to Edward Blake? Utterson is back, and he’s played by Peter Cushing! OMG!… Continue reading

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1968)
Runtime: 2 hr Starring: Jack Palance, Denholm Elliott, and Leo Genn Director: Charles Jarrott I watched this on a Monday night. When I say I watched this on a Monday night, I mean I fell asleep at some point and woke up with a heavy sigh of frustration. When I woke up, I immediately went… Continue reading

August Movie Roundup: Most Likely
It’s that time of the month again! The time of the month when I let you, my friends, know what I watched the previous month. Rapid fire! Totally Killer (2023): Most likely the movie I don’t remember anything about, but apparently rated it 6.7/10. Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995): Most likely to have one of… Continue reading

The Nutty Professor (1963)
Runtime: 1 hr 47 min Starring: Jerry Lewis, Stella Stevens, and Del Moore Director: Jerry Lewis I thought I knew things. I thought I knew that Jerry Lewis was only capable of portraying goofy, bumbling characters. Never mind that I think I’ve only ever seen him in one other movie before watching this one. Never… Continue reading
