It Started with a Nightmare

Only a whisper behind my love of books is my love for horror movies. Horror and I have a long history. As an older millennial, I have been privileged to experience the shift from VHS to DVD rentals. To the rise of Blu-Ray. Netflix sending movies straight to your door. To streaming. Through all of… Continue reading

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1955)

I hated this so much. Let me start at the beginning. There was another televised version – 1950, United Kingdom – that I tried to find with no luck, so I was forced to abandon my search and move on to the next. I don’t know what could have been. I want to believe that… Continue reading

Procrastinating

It is currently 8:04 pm EST. I had plans to watch the next Jekyll & Hyde film from the 1940s. I am stalling so hard right now. The problem is, I heard it’s mostly a beat-by-beat of the 1930s film I just watched, just painfully boring. Siemelle does not want to be disappointed. We’ll see… Continue reading

Random Movie Update

So, I haven’t exactly been watching too many movies within the last 2-3 weeks. You know how readers fall into reading slumps? I think I fell into a movie/watching slump. I have been trying to motivate myself over the last week, intending to sit down and watch a few movies after work. Each day, I… Continue reading

Jekyll And Hyde (1931)

Versus Ain’t no one got time to write a long-winded review. I watched the 1931 version of Jekyll and Hyde. Everyone, by now, knows the general story. Aside from the fact that we have moved into talkie territory, not a whole lot changed between 1920 and 1931. So, we’re going to force them to fight.… Continue reading

Yes, No, or Maybe (Movie Roundup Edition)

Dudes, I’m tired. I was up way too early, and have been on the go all day. Breakfast. Store. Another store. Chiropractor. Another store. Then I got really sleepy, followed by a burst of energy that prompted me to work it out by dancing to whatever popped up on my playlist. Now that the bubble… Continue reading

My Entire Personality

This may come as a big surprise to everyone, but I have a tendency to encounter something/someone, love them instantly, and then make that something or someone my entire personality. Wild, right? It’s true, though. Even in my advanced age, I will latch onto something/someone and obsess for an unspecified amount of time. Years sometimes.… Continue reading

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920)

If you could see my face right now, you’d see disappointment. I have beef. Not the fun beef that comes between two buns, smooshed with lettuce, tomato, and my choice of condiment. You see, friends, I had a post all written out on Monday night. I was clever. I was hilarious. WordPress, though, is scared… Continue reading

Movie Roundup Part 2

Since my last movie roundup, I have watched six movies. In the interest of keeping things fresh, I’m going to switch up how I present the movies in each post. Today, I’m going to list the movies first and then give you which I rated highest, lowest, and which movie is smack dab in ‘meh’… Continue reading
